1992: Bell Labs DSP50

Bell Labs was doing lots of handwritten character recognition projects.  For one of them they wanted to use software running on their DSP32C as fast as it could go.  I designed this one to run at 50 MHz using SRAM modules.  I kept it small enough to fit in a PC/AT ISA chassis so it could be deployed in their target systems.  I built quite a few of these for them.  Never heard a complaint.  I also learned on this project what an ‘ORB’ was.
