Digirad Corporation (Mid 1990’s)

Digirad was back then a small startup in San Diego specializing in nuclear imaging with SPECT. I was recruited by their Chief Scientist, Bo Pi, to build and test a PCI controller board for their prototype system. This design used a PLX PCI interface, the original PCI bus support silicon. I tested the PCI interface with FigFORTH (Indirect Threaded Code), a tool I had learned and supported back at SLAC. It all worked as planned. Digirad has grown a great deal since those startup days. I never stopped to get a real photo. It was way before handy cell phones with high resolution cameras.
